For example, if you use LiFePO4 batteries, you have to use LiFePO4 charger or the charger have a lithium option.

If you have 4 12V batteries in series for getting 48V, then you can also use 14.6V lithium charger to match them, but you need to make them in parallel before charge them.
If you prefer to charge them in series, you will need use 48V charger to match them.
