BATTERY SYSTEM IN RECREATIONAL VEHICLES
RVs have two types of batteries. The first type is the starting battery, which is used to start the vehicle. However, it's important to note that the starting battery cannot power the household appliances in your RV.

To power devices like tv, hairdryers, microwaves, heaters, and laptops, you need to use a second battery. This type of battery is called a deep cycle battery, also known as an RV house battery, camper battery, leisure battery, or secondary battery. The Enjoybot LIFePO4 battery is a deep-cycle battery, providing continuous power to the household appliances in your RV, enhancing your camping experience with comfort and convenience.
FOUR WAYS TO POWER YOUR RV BATTERY:
1. AC Power & Shore Power Charging
Your RV's lithium battery can be charged using an external 110V/220V AC power source through a converter charger. You can also use RV shore power to supply electricity to your AC appliances and simultaneously charge your battery.

2. Solar Charging
Solar panels are the greenest and most energy-efficient solution, ideal for long-term use. You can set up solar panels and a solar charging controller to charge your lithium battery and power your household electrical appliances using a DC-to-AC power inverter.

3. Generator Charging
When you don't have access to an AC power source and solar power is insufficient to charge your battery, it's time to bring out the generator. Generators are lifesaver power sources when nothing else is available, requiring only fuel, gasoline, or propane. They can power your AC appliances and quickly charge your battery.

4. Generator Charging
You can also use the onboard generator in your RV to charge the lithium battery while driving. However, since the output current of the AC generator is unstable, we recommend using a DC-DC power module between the AC generator and the lithium battery to balance and stabilize the current.
LiFePO4 RV BATTERY FAQ
Do RVs need deep cycle batteries?

When it comes to RVs, having the right deep cycle batteries for your battery pack is critical. The legendary Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) deep cycle battery will provide the reliable power you need in any condition, it is lightweight and able to fully charge and discharge up to 5000 cycles at DOD80%. At the end of a long road in the middle of nowhere, you will be grateful.

How many deep cycle batteries do I need to power my RV?

If you're wondering how much battery your RV needs, you need to consider the length of your trip and consumption patterns. Most RV applications require 12V or 24V current, so you need 12V or 24V batteries, and you can use multiple batteries in parallel to achieve a stable voltage and increase capacity requirements.

Can I use the engine alternator to charge the 12V 100AH LiFePO4 battery?

If you use the RV's alternator to charge the battery, please install a 30~60A DC-DC power module (output voltage between 14.2~14.4V).

Why do you need to install this DC-DC power module?

The output current of the alternator depends on the speed of the engine. This output current is unstable. We recommend that you use a device with constant voltage and constant current to charge the battery;
Although your alternator output current does not exceed the maximum 100A for battery charging, but if the car engine speed is high, its continuous output charging current sometimes exceeds 100A, or even higher;
The BMS of our 12V 100AH LiFePO4 battery is only 100A, its continuous input current and output current are only 100A, and the peak current can reach 300A (less than 5 seconds); If the continuous output current of the alternator exceeds 100A and lasts for more than 5 minutes, the BMS of the battery will heat up and easily turn on the over-temperature protection; at this time, your battery will be easily damaged and cannot be charged and discharged normally.
Because the charging voltage of 12V 100AH LiFePO4 battery is between 14.2~14.4V, the output voltage of the DC-DC power module must be set between 14.2~14.4V, otherwise your battery cannot be charged normally.

What kind of battery should I use in my RV?

RVs, campers, and vans have two types of batteries. One is the car/starter battery used to start the engine. The other is a deep cycle battery, also known as a household battery, which is used to power electronic devices. Most RVs, vans & campers are equipped with 12V lead-acid deep cycle batteries because they are cheap, but considering runtime, battery life and safety factor, we recommend lithium iron phosphate deep cycle batteries.
